A quick addendum to yesterday’s post on long-distance gardening in drought conditions — this is what we brought home:
In the photo: sorrel, kohlrabi, okahijiki, lettuce, flowering herbs (lemon, thai & Genovese basils, oregano, thyme), shiso, cilantro, dill, watermelon radishes, cucumbers, 3 little tomatoes, fushimi peppers, okra, yellow wax beans.
Not in the photo: kale, mizuna, garlic, mint (duh!).
Which of these vegetables were featured in the photo quiz? Correct, watermelon radish and kohlrabi! The flower was toraji or Chinese bellflower. Congratulations to Kristik — the competition was fierce but she finished on top with a confident lead!!!

Yay! Hold that garlic until I come over next time. Just don’t mix it with lavender
In other words, you don’t want me to name my latest garlic-lavender cocktail invention after you?..
